When it opened in 1996, The Archdale apartments were one of the first facilities of its kind in the country to offer apartments for homeless youth, ages 16-21.
The Archdale provides 24-hour on-site support services, including case management, referrals and other services to assist youth in achieving their employment, education and self-sufficiency goals.
The Archdale's first-floor community room serves as a gathering place for residents.
Aeon partners with YouthLink to guide and encourage youth toward self-sufficiency, self-empowerment and healthy connections. YouthLink staff assists youth at goal setting and learning independent living skills. A front desk staffed 24 hours a day offers added support.
In 2008, The Archdale under went renovation to better serve the at-risk youth. Lessons learned during the development of St. Barnabas, Aeon's other property for formerly homeless youth, were implemented during Archdale's renovation.
The Archdale has been recognized with several awards including a Met Life Foundation National Excellence in Affordable Housing Award.
