Position Summary

The Content Coordinator supports the implementation of the Aeon’s strategy organization-wide as part of the Advancement Team, which is responsible for driving revenue for the organization. Under the supervision of the Marketing & Communications Manager, this position executes on the strategic marketing and communications plan. The role is responsible for activities that promote, enhance, and protect Aeon’s brand and drive financial resources. This individual’s work advances the organization’s position with relevant constituents and drives broader awareness and support for the organization.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Writing and Editing: Serve as writer and editor for Aeon publications, appeals, speeches, press releases, and internal communications. Respond to online reviews. Ensure all written communication aligns with Aeon brand standards, voice and accessibility standards with a focus on driving equity and racial justice.
  • Content Strategy: Develop and manage a content calendar that supports Aeon’s fundraising, policy and advocacy, equity, and staff recruitment goals. Lead on promoting timely activities or initiatives as they arise, integrating them with the content calendar. Lead on content creation for the Aeon website, email, and advertising. Manage Google Ad Grants. Identify target audiences, create media profiles and audience journeys for each. Recommend content strategies to maximize engagement based on these insights. Implement learning from A/B testing to optimize performance. Ensure all digital communications meet Aeon’s brand and accessibility standards.
  • Resident Storytelling: Collaborate with the Community Engagement Coordinator to collect and write residents’ stories. Ensure that residents feel comfortable and empowered throughout the process.
  • Reporting: Draft quarterly Marketing & Communications Reports.
  • General: Participate as an active member of the Advancement team, including supporting other activities as needed. Seek out and participate in job-related professional development opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of previous employment experience in a communications or marketing function is required
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with high attention to detail and demonstrated skills writing in a variety of styles.
  • Ability to understand marketing and communications as it relates to Aeon’s brand-building and fundraising efforts.
  • Understanding of changing technologies, and ability to successfully utilize digital and other channels in integrated marketing, communication, and fundraising strategies.
  • Results-driven style, personal accountability, and excellent time management skills.
  • Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Ability to engage in interpersonal communication that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations
  • Proficient in Microsoft office tools.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Note: this is a hybrid position that requires some time working on-site in Aeon’s Central Office and visiting Aeon properties.


This full-time hourly position pays between $23-26 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
